Remembering our proud years of furthering women’s rights, we see the struggle toward women’s wellness situated at the heart of our strides. Our endeavor towards strengthening women has made undeniable headway and this has ultimately allowed women to have the upper hand with their well-being. As we honor women, prioritize your wellness with these empowering practices:
1. Take ownership of your health in every aspect of life.
True empowerment starts with the understanding that everyone deserves to live a life of purpose, balance, and joy. Going through life with intention and balance allows you to take the lead over your physical vitality, mental resilience and emotional health.
2. Be around uplifting people.
Rooted in our propensity to build strong communities, women have time and again succeeded and progressed far with the support they foster through rapport with fellow women (Sarigul, 2023). Positive social connections are proven to boost our wellness. When we share good experiences with others, we develop a greater capacity to respond to stressful situations (Arewasikporn et al., 2023). You may try to foster connections through your hobbies. Into craftmaking? You can try attending pottery classes and meet people who share this interest.
3. Create a safe personal space.
Creating a personal sanctuary, through a peaceful home environment, trusted friendships, or digital connections, helps us reflect, recharge and stand stronger in the face of challenges. Outside comfort, personal safe spaces serve as an environment where you can thrive and be your best self.
4. Set healthy boundaries.
Women have long fought the right to be in charge of their own lives, relationships, and ambitions (Cruea, 2005). Now, in an era of greater opportunities, the capacity to establish personal limits is a declaration of self-worth. Don’t’ be afraid to establish your limits with other people. Boundaries are not barriers, they are channels for healthier mental, emotional and professional welfare. You
Practicing personal care is not selfishness but a historical feat that lauds women’s rights. In our celebration of womanhood, not only do we toast to their achievements, but also to the hard-earned right to focus on our own well-being, ensuring a future where self-care and empowerment are recognized as fundamental to a secure, fulfilling life.
